- Webshop adaption and programmingNYLONEX UltraBond is a hygroscopic special film with a special adhesive for one-sided lamination when an absolutely flat position of the printed product must be guaranteed, e.g. with postcards, softcover book covers, but also with hardcover covers and interior mirrors, to prevent detachment and rolling up on the to avoid edges.
This is achieved by the hygroscopic property of the nylon material of GMP NYLONEX UltraBond, which has the same stretching properties as paper fibers when absorbing moisture. Lamination requires a laminator with a counter-stretching device (de-curling device) and when laminating, the paper fiber direction should run parallel to the laminating roller.
The NYLONEX UltraBond also has a special adhesive to achieve very good durability on toner-based digital print.
Another special feature of the NYLONEX UltraBond compared to polypropylene films (OPP films) is that the nylon material can be processed at a temperature of 110 - 125 °C during lamination without it shrinking, as it is the case with polypropylene above 105 °C. Due to the higher temperature, the UltraBond adhesive becomes much more liquid and can penetrate and anchor itself both in thick toner layers and in toner with a higher release agent content (especially EA toner such as XEROX DC250), whereby a significantly higher durability is achieved.
When using NYLONEX UltraBond, however, it should be noted that nylon is not possible to tear off due to its toughness and therefore the sheets cannot be automatically separated on most bursting systems of semi- and fully automatic laminating systems.
